Press Release Summary = Innovator of Process to Enhance K-12 Education Goes Global
Press Release Body = HOUSTON, TEXAS - December 15, 2006 - Prasolus, the only company to design and implement a digital process enabling K-12 teachers to dynamically tailor their curriculum to each student, announced today its plans for additional international expansion into Mexico, beginning with Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
After completing a feasibility study in November 2006, Dr. Joe Nichols, CEO and founder of Prasolus, and his dedicated team paid a visit to two private schools in Guadalajara: The American Academy and Colegio Ingles de Guadalajara. Both schools desire English in the curriculum for their children, and both have Internet connectivity throughout their campuses. With the integration of Prasolus' educational enhancement process and adoption of "Eddy," a web-based application that interfaces with participating students, these schools will have the benefit of providing an improved learning environment and connecting virtually to other classrooms around the world. The Prasolus team ultimately seeks to create in-person multi-national visits allowing teachers, administrators, and students to gain a deeper understanding of the individuals with whom they have worked digitally. The result is a richer learning environment that more closely approximates the global society in which we live.
"We recognize that the Prasolus concept would give us a competitive advantage, so we can successfully differentiate our school from the other private schools," said Ivette L. Reyna of the American Academy. "Parents place their children in our school with the goal of enabling them to gain an advantage in the preferred colleges and universities, as well as in the Mexico and international job market."
The cost of the integration of Prasolus is primarily, if not totally, borne by the parents.
School districts in Texas currently using Prasolus have already reported improved performance on benchmark exams, increased student attendance, and greater potential to increase student success rates on TAKS testing. In one case, a chemistry teacher whose class typically scores in the bottom 25th percentile, observed a 93 percent passage rate on his students' performance during the 11th grade exit-level science TAKS test.
The Prasolus process will also be applied to educational environments in Vietnam in 2007.
About Prasolus Prasolus is an education enhancement process utilizing supportive training and leading-edge technology to bridge the ever-widening divide between traditional paper-based teachers and digital learners. Prasolus equips K-12 classrooms with relevant, digitally-based tools to provide teachers with instantaneous meaningful feedback on students' learning of concepts being taught. Prasolus' web-based application called "Eddy" is the only program that allows teachers to dynamically tailor the curriculum to meet individual learning needs, dramatically accelerating the learning, engagement, and achievement of each student.
